Nowadays, attention and focus are hard to find. As adults, we’re having more and more trouble staying focused. We have so many distractions, like cell phones, family, work, and stress. Adding to this onslaught, our bodies are giving out. We suffer from insomnia, depression, and eating disorders.
Not long after his enlightenment, the Buddha was walking down a road. A traveler saw his amazing energy and asked him if he was an angel, a wizard, or a god. The Buddha replied, “No, I am awake.” To be truly awake is to be aware of all that is going on inside us, and around us. The use of meditation helps us be truly awake.
