While it’s true that everyone doesn’t experience things in the same way, the following is a general idea of what people experiencing a major depressive episode are going through. For them, the world looks totally different during the episode than how it looked before. It’s a dark place where beautiful things seem ugly, sinister, or flat. They believe that their loved ones are better off without them. There’s no comfort, no pleasure, nothing to live for, and there never will be. For the person suffering a major depressive episode, history has been rewritten to show that everything has always been miserable and nothing will ever change it.
