Most of us are not conscious of how we give our power away, but are aware of the results – a sense of helplessness, frustration, and lack of control in our lives. You may be inviting more control into your life by consistently asking for help when you don’t really need it, or by not following through with things you’ve agreed to do. Another way to ensure that others have all the power is to withhold your thoughts, feelings and opinions. If you have no say in what’s going on, you’re agreeing to the agenda of those willing to speak up, and are at their mercy by virtue of your silent compliance.
