When asked what changes they want in their relationship, many couples will quickly identify things they want their partner to change. In most cases, they don’t want a new relationship, they want the relationship they’re in — just with changes. Have you tried to change your partner? If you use the normal way of trying to change someone, i.e. dropping hints, asking for what you want multiple times, complaining, etc., in most cases it won’t work. So what do you do? First of all, talk to your partner in a non-blaming way. Explain what is bothering you, explain why it bothers you, and go over a plan on how to fix it together.
