Panic attacks are very real, and very hard to live with. Symptoms are both psychological and physical; you literally feel like you’re going to die. Here are some tips on how to cope with panic attacks:
- Ground yourself. Focus on something other than the attack.
- Replace your thoughts. Your mind is telling you lies; redirect it. Tell yourself truths to replace the lies.
- Accept your anxiety. It’s a fact of life that is unfortunate, but it’s true — you have to deal with panic attacks. This does not mean you give up or stop getting treatment for it, but that you accept the reality of what’s going on.
The most important thing to remember is that you are not alone, and you can win the fight.
