When it comes to handling stress and not letting it affect our daily life, women are apparently more capable than men, according to a new study conducted at the University of Buffalo, NY. Although the research was performed with rats, stress was found to impair a male’s memory, attention, decision making, emotions, and other high level processes more than a female. Scientists say it’s because females benefit from the protective estrogen in the brain; however, the researchers concluded that this finding could help men in the future. If they could identify a compound without hormonal side effects, it could help men better deal with stress-related problems.
