From feeling momentarily overwhelmed to suffering a panic attack, stress can affect us in many ways. There are many techniques to reduce our stress, the most effective of which is breathing exercises. Reducing stress by controlling our breathing has been shown to clear confusion, induce healthy sleep, and even help our digestion. It’s easy and can be done anywhere. Other stress reduction techniques include getting regular exercise, getting at least 20 minutes of sunshine each day, decreasing caffeine, managing our time, and getting enough sleep. Attitude is also important. Those of us with a positive outlook on life handle stressful situations best.
