In the average anti-depression commercial, a sad person’s walking in the park with an emotional voiceover talking about the difficulty of living with sadness/pain/etc., but after taking (insert popular commercialized drug of choice here), they’re now a happy person running in a field of flowers and laughing with loved ones. Unfortunately, life just isn’t like that. Medication is often helpful, but unless you deal with the real emotions behind physical and emotional pain, it won’t magically disappear. There’s not a pill in the world that will take away your pain until you recognize and start to deal with it. More awareness and help are needed for those suffering from physical and emotional pain.
