Do you feel like you’re taking the responsibility for other people’s jobs? In the circus, everyone has his or her job to do. The lion trainer doesn’t do acrobatics, the clowns don’t train animals. Take a look at your situation. Are you trying to take on someone else’s monkeys? If you have a boss who isn’t a very good leader, and you try to make up for it by giving your coworkers’ direction, not only will you be taking someone else’s monkey but your coworkers will not appreciate your efforts. When confronted with this situation, ask yourself: Is this my circus? Is this my monkey?
