Suddenly you’re dealing with doctors, hospitals, insurance, medications, errands, household chores, and even financial difficulties if your spouse can’t work. It can put a strain on even the healthiest relationship. There are things you can do, however, to keep your marriage strong. The first thing to do is to take care of yourself. Take care of your medical needs, exercise, eat right, and get enough sleep. Ask for help. Friends and neighbors can help. If you can afford it, hire professional help. For emotional help, support groups can help. Finally, spend time together dealing with the grief and emotions the situation is causing.
