Before we can answer the question about whether a narcissist can change, we need to recognize that there are two types of narcissists. One is the type that most people know about: the egotistical, self-centered person who causes problems in his or her relationships, and in the world they live in. The other type feels good about themselves, and interacts well with others. The latter is considered a healthy type of narcissism. A recent study shows that the egotistical, self-centered type can, if given the right circumstances, evolve into the healthy version.
