Yoga, Mindfulness, And Being Mugged

An article in Elephant Journal, by Sadie Nardini, related how she used the skills from her yoga practice to talk her way through a mugging. She didn’t panic, and pretended to take photos of the two young men and text them to the police. The young men ran away without seriously harming her. Her experience demonstrates the benefits of yoga and meditation. Being present allows us to fully experience and deal with the present moment. When we’re not worrying about the future or pining for the past, we can show up fully for any of the events in our lives as they unfold.
