Marriage Resolutions to make 2014 the Best Year for Your Marriage

The key to making lasting resolutions is to decide on specific and realistic goals. The more specific, the better. For example, you might say, “In 2014, I promise to have more patience with my spouse.”  Instead, think specifically how you’ll accomplish this: “In 2014, whenever I feel impatient with my spouse, I’m going to take 5 deep breaths before I react.” This is an actionable resolution that will lead to real change.  Another specific goal might be resolving to thank your partner or pay him a compliment at least once a day. Being appreciative for even the smallest things can go a long way in improving your relationship.
