We have all said “I’ll be happy when ____ happens”. While it’s great to have goals and dreams, it’s not a good idea to hang your happiness on what might happen in the future. Stop and take the time to be happy now. Start by counting your blessings. This may sound a little cliché, but it works. Try finding three things every day that you’re thankful for. You can obtain temporary happiness from the outside, like a day at the spa with a friend. But for real lasting happiness, you have to look within yourself, and live in the moment. Be mindful of your emotions, good and bad, then decide if you’re going to let them affect your day.
